Brendan played alright. It was a long season but he learned alot and made some new friends.

He caught some passes, and threw a few, and even got a touch down or two, but he made me the proudest when he was at a practice. The coach told them to run due to talking too much. One of the kids couldn't quite make it, but Brendan is fast he always is. He ran his laps and then came back to help a new friend. He stayed with him running in front and encouraging him to finish. I had to look away as a tear came to my eye. I couldn't help but think to myself, this made it all worth it. During the season we got compliments from the other dad's like " He throws like a pro" or "He runs like lightning" But the mom's who witnessed the same practice I did said " He is a good boy" and "He has good character"

All of us Except Bobby

Fun Fun Fun

Fresh Conch before it went in our salad

Believe it or not this was still moving before he cut it up and put it in our salad. It was mixed with like a pico de gallo. Yum Yum! LOL
What was I thinking????

Brendan started having fun

before we left at Wal-mart.

Feet

Can you guess which foot belongs to which person?

This is my favorite picture of
Scott and the kids. I think it really captures the time that we enjoyed together.

Like our tired smiles after snorkeling?

1st Annual Ferris Family Vacation 2008

We went to Florida and the Bahamas this year. We had a blast. We skipped out of all the theme park action and relaxed at the beach, which was a great idea. The kids and adults had a lot more fun this time. My favorite part was the Oceanside restaurant in the Bahamas where we ate conch (conk). Brendan's favorite part was trying to get US customs to let him bring a real coconut home to Grant. Kimberly's favorite part was snorkeling. Christen's had the most fun sliding down the slide at the water park over and over. She also thought it was cool that the beach we are standing on is the same beach where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed at. I think Scott enjoyed the jet ski's best. We also enjoyed the company Bobby and the girls. It was a lot of fun and we got to bond. On the last day of vacation Scott asked everyone, So where are we going next? Who know where we'll go next time????? Can't wait!!!!!

Christen Ferris

This is my youngest daughter, Christen Marcella. She is named after Scott's brother and Grandma.
Christen has more motherly instict than most mothers that I have met. She still likes playing with her baby dolls and she just recently started gymnastics.
She doesn't like sports as much as the other two kids, but I'm okay with that. She does like to play the piano, but we have put lessons on hold for now.
Christen is very good at directions. She always know how to get home and some times assists me when I get lost. She has an amazing memory. She can tell you what the neighbors had last week for dinner. Her dad says that is just nosey. LOL
Christen is our little missionary. I just found out last week at church when I started to get on to her for taking a stack of pass along cards from the church. I told her to put them back and explained what they were for. She looked at me with her DaAA!!! look and said I do hand these out to my friends at school when I invite them to church with me. Then I gave her one of my "Really?" looks. Boy, did I feel stupid.
So there you have it.
I think that is everything I can think to say at 1:30AM in the morning about Christen. Except, she has already choosen her spouce when she is old enough. It's kind of an inside joke we have with some friends of ours. If you ask Christen who she is going to marry she'll say Harrison and then give you her Daaaa look again. LOL
Well got to go for now.

Brendan Ferris

This is Brendan. He is my only son. He is good at most sports, but his love is baseball and basketball. And this year he has decided to play football. Why, I'm not sure.
Brendan's hobbies include playing video games, reading, and making others laugh. You can see how this last hobby can sometimes land him in trouble. I'm always telling him he likes to walk the line.
I do have to say Brendan's sportsmanship over the years has improved. In fact just tonight, Brendan was pitching in a baseball tournament in Ste. Gen and this kid hit the ball way out past the out fielders head. The boys get the ball in pretty quick and held the runner on first, and Brendan turns to the runner and tells him "good hit." Scott looked at me and said,"Did he just say what I think he said?" I told him yes. Later after the game, we asked Brendan about it and all he said was, it was a good hit. LOL!!! Got to Love em.
Brendan made student council this year. Which is another funny story. Kimberly planned all week and made pins and worked hard on her poster and speech when she ran for student council. Brendan didn't do anything until the morning of the election. He drew a poster with magic markers and gave his speech by shooting from the hip and made it. Kimberly was sooooo mad it was funny. I thought it was even funnier when we went to parent teacher conference and all his teacher could talk about was how wonderful his speech was. Some people are just born public speakers, a quality that we say he must have inherited from his Grandpa Ferris not me or Scott.
All these things are fun but I think Brendan's best quality is he is quick to choose the right and seek the Lord for answers when needed. I'll never forget the time when he was about 4 years old. He found a baby turtle about the size of a silver dollar. He took it to Grandpa and Grandma Ferris's house to show them. He next thought it would be fun to let him go for a swim in Grandma's fountain. We left the turtle there and went inside for dinner. After dinner it was time to go, and Brendan went out to get his turtle when he discovered it gone. Once I had learned this news I knew he would be upset so I told him that the turtle went to find it's mommy. Brendan was not satisfied with this answer, cause he knew Grandpa would be cutting the grass in the morning. I went inside to get a flashlight, when I returned I found my son kneeling by the porch swing praying he would find his turtle. I just had to at least look for it now, even though I knew it was impossible to find a green turtle that small in the green grass in the dark. But I was one of those people that they talk about when they say "ye of little faith" It wasn't 2 seconds after Brendan's prayer that Grandpa found the baby turtle half way across their very large lawn. I learned alot that night about Brendan and about prayer.

Kimberly

Isn't she cute!
She is such a dork! JK! Mom had to go get ready for bed now! LOL! So I'll take the blog from here.
Well, I am 12 years old now and am excitingly finally in Young Women's. In June I will finally be able to participate in Girl's Camp. I am now in softball, the sport right now, which happens to be the best. If you don't know my family, you will soon find out that we have a very tight schedule. With us kids in every sport known to man I don't know how mom and dad pull it off. I play softball, basketball, soccer, and just added a new sport.....CHEERLEADING!!!!!!
I was so excited to make the team. It started off as just some extra time to spend with one of my best friends, Mary Catherine, but now it's a real sport just like the rest and i will happily be starting it next year as i enter the.....7TH GRADE!!!!! AHHH!!!!!!!!
Mom and dad say I'm growing up to fast but i think it's taken forever just to make it this far and can't wait for the years to come and right now i think the best are till waiting. Well............Um........O............
I am in student council this year I have been running for the last 2 years and finally made it. Last year I also made Honor Choir and was very happy about that. Now we are preparing for a concert which we will be preforming at Six Flags. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!
That same day I will also be preforming for band,(not so excited) Well mom's rushing me.....
"Kimberly you need to go to bad," So i got to go but I will be back so just try to hold back the tears for now.

Seriously, I don't know where all that sarcasm comes from. LOL
Well, now that she is gone, let me think of what she didn't tell you. Like how she has a cell phone that is attached to her pemanantly. That is where she learned that fun new "texting" langauage that I still can't understand!
Oh yea, she didn't mention "The Purse". Kimberly got her first designer Coach purse for Christmas this year, and no I didn't buy it! Until she got it I didn't even know what Coach was. A boy bought it for her. Yea, that's right. I know what your thinking. "She is way too young for that" Well I agree. That is why I could hardly contain my excitement when the boy called it quits a few weeks later. By the way, the purse it currantly on sale to the highest bidder. You know to help hear broken wounds and all. When she reads this tomorrow she is going to kill me. Oh well, I owe her!
I had better go for now. We'll add Brendan and Christen tomorrow.
See Ya,
Lucky

The Blog Spot Begins!!!!!

How did we fit a blog in with our busy schedule? Is still to be found out, but somehow we managed.

She is confident I'll give her that. Well, Kimberly had to step out to get ready for school tomorrow. We decided to start this after reading the Felkerfamily.blogspot.com. We find "Elizabeth stories" histarical. Sorry Stephanie. Anyway we thought this would be a fun way to keep in touch with our family and friends. So we'll give it a shot.

Let's Start with Scott and myself. We have been happily married now for almost 13 years now. Wow, we are getting old! We enjoy running our kids around here and there to this sport and that.
We are still active in church activities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I personally love my calling a ton, but of corse I do have the best group of girls I have ever met to work with.
Scott still works with the same company, now called ICL, and still on shift work. Yuk!!! He also continues to coach Kim's basketball and softball team. Which he loves.
I work at American Family Insurance in Bonne Terre and I love it. It is only part time and allows me to still focus on my family while making some extra cash that leads me to my, of corse, my favorite hobby, shopping. LOL. Just Joking.
We love our new home in Farmington. And I'm not talking about the dwelling in which we sleep. I mean we love Farmington. The church ward is great and the town is pleasant. We are finally starting to settle in and make some really good friends, that by the way if your reading this, we hope don't ever move anywhere else.
We had a rough 2007, with injuries, missing work, divorces of some close family, life threatning car accidents of family members, you know everyones average year. But we learned a lot and we still count our blessings everyday. We continue to lean on each other for support and that is and still remains the best part about this year and last.
